Mantras for the Planets and More

Mantras, generally, should only be used under the direction of a competent spiritual advisor or Vedic astrologer.

Please note that some mantras are very strong medicine indeed and should absolutely not be used by the general public. Do not pick a mantra out of a list and start using it. That is like going into a drug store and choosing a medicine at random. It's chancy at best, dangerous at worst.

However, there is a small number of widely known, "public" mantras that are generally safe for any adult. Phone Michael for details. Here is a list of some of them:

Sun - Om shree Suryaya Namaha

Moon - Om shree Chandraya Namaha

Mars - Om shree Mangalaya Namaha

Mercury - Om shree Budhaya Namaha

Jupiter - Om shree Gurave Namaha

Venus - Om shree Shukraya Namaha

Saturn - Om shree Shanaischaraya Namaha (pronounced sha-nice-cha-rye-uh), can also use Om shree Mandaya Namaha

Rahu - Om shree Rahave Namaha

Ketu - Om shree Ketave Namaha

Number of times the mantra must be repeated during a 60-day time frame to fully propitiate the planet:

1. Sun - 6,000

2. Moon - 10,000

3. Mars - 7,000

4. Mercury - 17,000

5. Jupiter - 16,000

6. Venus - 20,000

7. Saturn - 19,000

8. Rahu - 18,000

9. Ketu - 7,000

Ganesh mantra (he removes obstacles) - Om gum ganapatayay namaha.

Lakshmi mantra (she brings wealth) - Om shree Lakshmyay namaha

Saraswati mantra (she brings knowledge) - Om shree Saraswatyay namaha

Mritunjaya Mantra (brings relief from chronic disease and wards off death) - Om treyambakam yaja-mahay sugandhim pushteevardhanam urvaru-kameeva bandhanan mrityor- mudsheeya mamritat.

Durge Mantra (brings the blessings of the Mother Goddess and fights negative tendencies) - Om dum Durgayai namaha

Shiva mantra - Om namah Sheevaya

Vishnu mantra - Om namo bhagavatay vasudevaya
